On or about 07 August 14, a Philippine Navy boat has intercepted a motorboat loaded with MOL 104 sacks of helmet shells in the waters off Basilan. According to the acting chief of the BFAR Basilan regional office Pedling Munap, the items were turned over to the Coast Guard station Basilan and the BFAR regional office for proper custody. Initial investigations showed the motorboat reportedly came from Basilan. Munap said harvesting of helmet shells is prohibited under Administrative Order 158.
