Members of the Philippine Coast Guard on Wednesday rescued a handcuffed Nigerian floating in a section of Pasig River in Mandaluyong City.

Quoting a PCG personnel, Super Radyo dzBB’s Dobol B sa News TV said the Nigerian claimed he came from a Makati police station, but gave no details on how he ended up jumping into the river in the vicinity of Barangay Jolo.

But the report said that upon initial police investigation, the handcuffs did not belong to the police. 

Authorities are investigating the incident and the rescued Nigerian. —LBG, GMA News
