Fifty-three (53) passengers of the capsized M/V Cruiser Sam and Shorty have been rescued in Cebu City, the Philippine Navy said Saturday. The rescued passengers – 32 males, 14 females and seven children – have been transported to Mandaue City and were subsequently turned over to the Philippine Coast Guard for documentation. The passengers of the ill-fated vessel were rescued around 4 a.m. Saturday. It was reported earlier that the vessel had only 50 people aboard. The vessel was en route to Clarin, Bohol when it ran across the Lauis Ledge in Talisay City, Cebu due to rough sea conditions causing the boat to tilt and capsized.
