On the dawn of 10 Dec 13, about 1000 board feet of allegedly illegally cut logs have been seized in a joint operation between the police from Bulua police station and the city local environment and natural resources office (Clenro). After receiving a tip from an undisclosed informant, Edwin Dael, Clenro chief, along with the police lurked in the roadside in Sitio Bulao in Barangay Iponan. They seized more than 1,000 board feet of lumber from naturally grown trees. The police officers arrested Jolie Pairat from El Salvador City and the driver Concordio Actub. The truck used to haul the illegally cut logs is held under the custody of Bulua police. Charges will be filed after the Pairat and Actub could explain their sides, Dael said. Clenro–Initao will handle the case, but Bulua police and Clenro-CDO will execute an affidavit against the two.
