A barge that ran aground near the seawall of Roxas Boulevard in Manila Bay on Sunday due to strong waves and winds from Typhoon Lando was successfully towed from grounding position on Wednesday morning 21 October 2015. Cdr. Armand Balilo of the Philippine Coast Guard said that the barge AZ Shanghai was successfully “pulled out of from grounding position by Malayan Towage.” Tugboat Many Plus was assisted by Malayan tugboat in pulling the barge to Manila Bay anchorage. The barge carries a full cargo of coal, and it was moved from anchorage position due to the strong waves. Earlier, Philippine Coast Guard said the 10 crew members of the tugboat are safe.
