The Department of Foreign Affairs has repatriated 43 fishermen who had been arrested for illegal fishing late last year in Indonesia. A statement released Wednesday said the fishermen, who crewed the fishing vessel KM Love Merben, returned home on February 23 and were received at the DFA by Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Jesus Yabes. The Filipinos were apprehended last September 16 in Ternate, North Maluku and had no passports or travel documents when they entered Indonesia waters. However, they said the master of the vessel, Alan Abi, managed to evade arrest. They told Yabes they intend to file charges against Citra Mina.
