Hundreds of passengers are stranded at Sta. Fe port in Bantayan Island after tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 was raised in northern Cebu due to tropical depression ‘Crising.’

Trips to mainland Cebu were cancelled from 10 in the morning despite the sunny weather condition experienced all over the island Saturday morning.

Some passengers who could not afford to stay in other lodgings decided to wait at the port terminal for the possible resumption of trips.

Philippine Coast Guard-Cebu officials said they cannot allow sea trips while weather disturbance threatens some parts of the country.

‘Crising’ is expected to make landfall over Samar by Saturday afternoon.
