San Esteban, Ilocos Sur–Four fishermen were rescued by the crew of a foreign vessel while two others remain missing in the West Philippine Sea.

The fishermen’s boats were pounded by giant waves and sank last Friday off Ilocos Sur.

The Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard and San Esteban, Ilocos Sur municipal disaster risk reduction office, after learning of the incident, proceeded to Barangay Apatot in San Esteban and discovered that the four fishermen were rescued and dropped off there.

The police identified the rescued fishermen as Reggie Quintinita, Rey Quintinita, Neil John Estocia and Teofilo Callejo.

They told authorities that after their boats were destoryed and sunk by big waves, they were rescued by the crew of M/V Ocean International and brought to San Esteban.

Meantime in Pangasinan, search and rescue efforts continue for the three missing fishermen/crewmembers of a fishing vessel which also sank on December 8 off Infanta town. (With a report from Liezle Basa Inigo)
